Weekend Report

Dear Colleagues, Donors, Sponsors, Attendees, and Friends,

The all-volunteer Costa Rica Global Association of Realtors (CRGAR) held its 10th Annual Fundraising Weekend (Golf Tournament and Welcome Party) on June 3-4. Over 220 attended the events and 75 businesses and donors showed their support for CRGAR, including overall Weekend Sponsors, Immigration Experts and Las Catalinas Development, with special support from Reserva Conchal. The educational charities supported by CRGAR’s efforts include Amigos de la Educacion Fundacion and El Colegio de Playas del Coco.

Friday night’s Welcome Party in Flamingo was hosted by Mar y Sol Restaurant, and sponsored by RE/MAX Tres Amigos and RE/MAX Prestige Ocean Properties. Guests enjoyed a complimentary welcome cocktail, snacks, event videos, music, raffle drawings, and a front row seat to a surprise fireworks display celebrating a birthday on the beach below.

Saturday’s Golf Tournament at Reserva Conchal had its largest ever field of golfers, who then joined other supporters at the Awards Luncheon. The lunch event was hosted by the Conchal Beach Club, and was sponsored by the Arenal Maleku Condominiums. Guests enjoyed a beach club buffet, a complimentary mojito bar (by Immigration Experts), golf awards, more raffle drawings, and auctions for guest packages donated by the Four Seasons Papagayo and the Westin Reserva Conchal Resort.

CRGAR is the leading professional platform for realtors in Costa Rica. Financial results for the weekend were not complete at press time, but the CRGAR Board is confident the net proceeds will be among the highest in CRGAR history.

       Golf Tournament and Welcome Party Weekend, June 3-4 2011

       CRGAR cordially invites you to be part of our 10th Annual Fundraising Weekend on June 3-4, 2011. We welcome you as a golfer, sponsor, partygoer, luncheon guest, and volunteer to help us make another success of this yearly weekend of events. All our activities are open to the general public, as well as realtors and allied professionals, and all details follow below. We look forward to your support.

       CRGAR offers these events each year to raise money for educational charities, as well as our own, all-volunteer association. This year, your participation will benefit Amigos de la Educacion and the Public High School in Playas del Coco, as well as the CRGAR.

       Just us for the FUN in FUNDraising!

       Join us in support of the Amigos de la Educación Foundation and La Escuela de Playas del Coco for a great golf tournament and an opportunity to learn more about our organization and network!

Be sure to reference your name and what you are paying (example: ABC Company Sponsorship). We encourage you to pre-pay: it’s both easier and safer for tournament staff.

Checks may be made out to: COSTA RICA GLOBAL ASSOCIATION OF REAL ESTATE. Cash can be accepted by our volunteers with a receipt given to the purchaser. A proper factura (more information about facturas can be found below) can then be arranged, and either sent by mail, picked up the day of the tournament, or personally picked up in Liberia.

If you would like to pay by credit card, one of our volunteers can assist you by making a copy of your credit card, ID, and your filled out credit card form for “signature on file”.  A 5% transaction fee will be added to your total.
